Southampton will welcome Queen Elizabeth for the first time on Friday 8th October where she will berth alongside Ocean Terminal at 09.00 am.

In line with the Cunard tradition of commissioning appropriate sculpture or portraits for display on board each ship named by a member of the Royal Family, the company has commissioned an official portrait of The Queen for the new Queen Elizabeth, due to be named by Her Majesty next month.
A study of over 65s found that many envy the lifestyles of the young, with the majority (57%) saying they wished they had travelled more and 45% wishing they had quit their jobs and changed professions.
Cunard Line is pleased to confirm that Her Majesty The Queen will name the company’s new Queen Elizabeth, the third Cunard ship to bear the name, at a ceremony to take place in Southampton on Monday 11 October 2010.

I have recently had a very enjoyable tour of Azamara Journey and had the most superb lunch onboard. Azamara is rarely in the UK so when I received the invite to go and see her in Liverpool I knew I might not get another chance. Journey was in the middle of a Round UK cruise which had departed from Copenhagen and had mainly north American passengers for this itinerary.
