P&O Cruises has changed the turnaround port from Savona to Genoa for all calls of the Ventura 2014 Fly-Med programme. The change to Genoa will improve and enhance the overall passenger experience and will apply to all sailings for Ventura Fly-Med season from N407A departing March 26, 2014 through to N421B departing October 15, 2014.
P&O Cruises managing director Carol Marlow said: “Having Ventura based in the port of Genoa will allow us to provide a more efficient service during embarkation and disembarkation, reducing the transfer time considerably for those flying in or out of Genoa airport. The port itself is also the gateway to this ancient Italian city, with waterfront restaurants, shopping and numerous historic places of interest all in close proximity, providing a much richer port experience for our passengers.”
Marlow continues: “This will be our first Mediterranean fly-cruise season on board Ventura and so we want to ensure it’s a huge success. We are confident that this change to the itinerary will provide our passengers with an enhanced experience to their holiday.”
For the first time ever, and new for 2014, P&O Cruises is offering Fly-Med cruises on Ventura. Recently back from a multi-million pound refit, the family-friendly ship will now offer great value year-round fly-cruise holidays, offering the summer in the Mediterranean, sailing round Italy from Venice to Genoa and back to Venice, taking in Croatia, Greece, Corsica and Montenegro, in addition to fly-cruise holidays during winter in the Caribbean.
With fewer days at sea and a more relaxed atmosphere on board, these destination-rich holidays are perfect for families and friends seeking an instant escape to the sun.
A choice of appealing seven and 14-night fly-cruise holidays in the Mediterranean will be available from late March to October exploring the region’s iconic cities including Rome, Venice, Naples, Dubrovnik and Florence, as well as other smaller destinations including Kotor and Ajaccio. Optional one to three-night city stays are available to add on to a cruise in Venice, Milan, Nice or Genoa.
‘Cruise-only’ prices start from £499 per person for seven nights, based upon two people sharing the lowest grade of inside cabin. An optional ‘Holiday Package Add-on’, which includes flights from Birmingham, London or Manchester and resort transfers, costs from £250 per person.
Refit enhancements include: 18 new single cabins, The Retreat outdoor spa, The Glass House, by Olly Smith, a new Thai/Indonesian menu by Atul Kochhar in ‘East’ select dining restaurant, a new dance floor, enomatic wine system, perfumery, library and the ship is now fully wi-fi enabled.
